Our story

The Roots of Our Community

My World School began in 2016 as a series of heartfelt family gatherings in Verdun, Montréal. Our community first took shape through creative meetings at the Maison des Familles de Verdun, local community centers, and neighborhood parks. It was a place where parents and children gathered to share, learn, and grow together.

As we expanded, we turned the city itself into our classroom. We organized numerous educational outings to museums, botanical gardens, and cultural landmarks, teaching our children to see the world as an endless source of inspiration and knowledge.

Resilience & Innovation

When the challenges of 2019–2021 arrived, we adapted quickly to ensure our children never lost their connection to learning. We established a full-scale online school that operated for two years, providing regular academic classes for school-aged children. This period strengthened our bond and proved that a community built on shared values can thrive in any environment.

The Path Forward: A New Generation Hub

Since 2025, we have held our monthly family gatherings and community initiatives at Centre Communidée (Saint-Henri, Montréal).

Currently, we are searching for a permanent home to create a Next-Generation Educational Hub featuring:

• Homeschooling Support (École-maison): A student-centered program for school-aged children, offering a rich, individually oriented curriculum.

• Youth Path & Purpose: Career orientation and mentorship for teens and students to help them discover their unique strengths and find their place in modern society.

• Weekend Family Gatherings: Regular community meetings with workshops, games, tea, and mutual support.

• Holistic Family Support: Expanding our mission of Soutien à la jeunesse et famille to provide comprehensive guidance for parents navigating alternative education.

We are a non-profit initiative dedicated to bringing heart-centered education to families across Montreal and the South Shore.
